The Veterans Memorial, built in 2013, is in downtown Brighton at the Mill Pond. It was officially completed and presented to the public on Veterans weekend, November 2014, and honors area veterans and their families. The memorial includes flags from all branches of the military as well as the American and Michigan flags.
In 2019, two Rosie the Riveter rosebushes were planted in honor of Rosie the Riveter of WWII. Our roses honor two Brighton residents, Mary Ann Dlugosz and Wanda Olechowski. Brick pavers with the names of those who served their country have been installed on the surrounding dais and sidewalks. Additional engraved brick pavers can be purchased through the Veterans Memorial Committee.
The garden was awarded 1st Place in 2015 by the MGC. BMGC is honored to design, plan and maintain this outstanding memorial.
