Mission
To promote the love of gardening and environmental responsibility; protect and conserve our natural resources; promote education so we may become thoughtful caretakers of our air, water, forest, land and wildlife; and recognize residences and businesses for outstanding efforts in gardening.
Purpose
The purpose of the Brighton Michigan Garden Club (BMGC) is to encourage interest in all phases of gardening and to promote better horticultural practices, civic beauty, and conservation of natural resources, in addition to affiliating with Michigan Garden Clubs, Inc. Central Region and National Garden Clubs, Inc.
Description
Please join us! Meetings are the 2nd Thursday of the month, September thru May, at 10 a.m. at the Brighton Community Center, 555 Brighton St.
BMGC has established and maintains 7 public gardens in Brighton (see a description and location of each garden under the “Our Gardens” tab). In addition to planning and maintaining the gardens, the BMGC supports local scouting and school garden projects as well as awards a $1,500 scholarship annually to a Brighton High School graduating senior who will be majoring in Environmental Sciences.
